Roads are wet and slippery in most of the country. Traffic jams are possible in roadwork areas, and on city roads and their bypasses. Drivers are advised to adapt their driving to road conditions and to keep the safety distance.
The A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
-There is an object on the road on the A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway, between the Karlovac and Jastrebarsko junctions (at the 21km) towards Zagreb. Traffic is proceeding over two road lanes with a driving speed limit of 80km/h. Please be cautious.
The A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
-There is a broken-down vehicle between the Okučani and Nova Gradiška junctions (at the 163km) towards Lipovac.
-There is a broken-down vehicle at the Spačva junction towards Lipovac. Traffic is proceeding over two road lanes with a driving speed limit of 80km/h.
Motorways in Istria:
-Tonight, between 2 and 3 September, from 10pm until 6am, traffic will proceed with temporary traffic regulation through the Učka tunnel due to roadwork.
The DC1 state road:
-Traffic is proceeding slowly near the town of Udbina.
The DC8 Adriatic Road:
-Traffic is proceeding slowly in queues between Stobreč and Podstrana, as well as near Omiš and Dubrovnik.
Due to water pooling on the road, all traffic is suspended on, and on the LC67209 Veliki Prolog-Draževitići local road.
Due to roadwork, traffic on the following roads has been suspended:
-The DC5 Grubišno Polje-Veliki Zdenci (until 11 October)
-The DC29 state road, between Zlatara and Zlatar Bistrice (until 1 October)
-The DC38 Požega-Pleternica state road, between the towns of Kuzmica and Vesela (until 31 December)
-The DC46 between Đakovo and Vinkovci, in the town of Vođinci (until 18 September).
-The DC51 state road Nova Gradiška-Požega near the town of Rešetari (until 19 September)
-The DC200 state road in Višnjan (until 25 September)
-The DC214 state road in Gudnja (roadwork on the bridge); on the Gunja-Brčko border crossing, there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles and busses (detour: Županja border crossing)
-The DC512 state road Makarska-Ravča near the Stupica tunnel, direction Vrgorac (due to rocksliding)
-The DC546 Stojdraga-Krašić near the town of Petričko Selo (until 15 March 2026)
-The LC50013 Kremenje-Oskoruš local road in Istria (due to rocksliding).
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
-on 2 September, from midnight until 4am, traffic will temporarily be suspended (for up to 15 minutes) at the Ploče junction due to extraordinary transport
-due to the extraordinary transport in the zones of the Zagreb zapad (switching on to the main route of the A3 motorway), Lučko (switching off from the main route of the A3 motorway and switching on to the A1 motorway) and Bisko (switching off from the main route of the A1 motorway) junctions, traffic will be suspended once, for a maximum duration of up to 15 (fifteen) minutes per location, at positions where the extraordinary transport occupies two traffic lanes. Temporary, short-term traffic suspensio is permitted in 1 (one) night period, in the period from 02.09.2025. to 05.09.2025., from 23:00 to 06:00.
-on 2 and 3 September, from midnight until 4am, traffic will be suspended for 15 (fifteen) minutes near the Ploče junction, due to extraordinary transport
The A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:
-until 14 November, the right lane between the 1+800 and 2+600km towards Zagreb will be closed for all traffic, due to roadwork
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
-until 13 September, the Kraljeva Velika Sjever rest area (direction Zagreb) is closed due to reconstruction
-from 2 until 4 September, between midnight and 5am, traffic will temporarily be suspended for a short period of time near the Sredanci junction (direction: Bregana), due to extraordinary transport
-due to the extraordinary transport in the zones of the Zagreb zapad (switching on to the main route of the A3 motorway), Lučko (switching off from the main route of the A3 motorway and switching on to the A1 motorway) and Bisko (switching off from the main route of the A1 motorway) junctions, traffic will be suspended once, for a maximum duration of up to 15 (fifteen) minutes per location, at positions where the extraordinary transport occupies two traffic lanes. Temporary, short-term traffic suspensio is permitted in 1 (one) night period, in the period from 02.09.2025. to 05.09.2025., from 23:00 to 06:00.
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway: -on 4 September, between midnight and 4am, due to extraordinary transport, traffic will temporarily be suspended for up to 15 (fifteen) minutes between the Rijeka toll station and the Kikovica junction (entry/exit to the D3 state road)
Istria's motorways (A8/A9)
-between the Učka tunnel and Matulji (Učka) junction there is a traffic ban on vehicles wider than 3 m and longer than 22 m, in both directions;
-due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and the Matulji junction, temporary traffic regulation has been put into place and traffic might occasionally be suspended. Detour options for personal vehicles: DC500 Vranja state road – Šušnjevica – Vozilići i ŽC5047 Vranja county road – Veprinac – Matulji
DC1 state road:
-roadwork is in progress at Brnaze, from direction Sinj towards Split there is a traffic ban on vehicles longer than 7 m
-due to roadwork, traffic is proceeding with temporary traffic regulation on the Udbina bypass
EXTRAORDINARY TRANSIT:
-due to the extraordinary transport in the zones of the Zagreb zapad (switching on to the main route of the A3 motorway), Lučko (switching off from the main route of the A3 motorway and switching on to the A1 motorway) and Bisko (switching off from the main route of the A1 motorway) junctions, traffic will be suspended once, for a maximum duration of up to 15 (fifteen) minutes per location, at positions where the extraordinary transport occupies two traffic lanes. Temporary, short-term traffic suspensio is permitted in 1 (one) night period, in the period from 02.09.2025. to 05.09.2025., from 23:00 to 06:00.
ADDITIONAL ADVICE:
-Due to the changing weather conditions, check the Croatian Automobile Club official website or mobile app regularly for all traffic information (the information is available in real time and it changes regularly). For weather conditions, check the webpage of the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service.
-Every day, in traffic, there are many cyclists, moped drivers and bikers. Other vehicle drivers are advised to pay attention to these vehicles on the road when joining traffic, changing lanes, overtaking, passing, making a U-turn, or turning. We also remind cyclists, moped riders, and motorcyclists to adjust their driving to traffic regulations and speed limits.
Border crossings - Tue, 02 Sep 2025 19:47:41 GMT
Due to protests, freight traffic has been suspended in both directions at the Županja border crossing. Difficulties may occur on other border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Traffic is dense at some border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro.
Notifications about waiting times at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.
Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.
The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.
At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).
Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.
Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.
Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.
The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.
The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January

Ferry traffic - Tue, 02 Sep 2025 19:47:41 GMT
We would like to inform all passengers that the Ploče-Trpanj ferry line has been suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The Vodice - Prvić Šepurine - Prvić Luka - Zlarin - Šibenik boat line will not stop at Prvić Luka.
On Wednesday, 3 September, the 9403 Ist/Široka - Zapuntel - Brgulje - Molat - Zadar ferry line will depart from the Kosirača port at 6am (instead of the Ist port).
Until September 30, the ferry on the Split-Supetar route will depart from the port of Split at 4.50 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m, and from the port of Supetar at 6.20 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
-For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
-According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:

Roads will be wet and slippery in most of the country.
Dense traffic is expected on city roads, their bypasses and on some sections of the motorways towards the coast and towards the interior, especially on the Zagreb and Rijeka-city bypasses, on the A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići, A6 Rijeka-Zagreb and A7 Rupa-Rijeka-Žuta Lokva motorways, motorways in Istria, and the Krk Bridge, as well as on access roads to tourist destinations. Traffic might occasionally proceed slowly in queues with traffic jams, especially near toll stations, tunnels, and rest areas.
Dense personal-vehicle traffic is expected at most border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. Delays in freight traffic may occur on the Bajakovo, Tovarnik, Svilaj, Županja, Stara Gradiška and Jasenovac border crossings.
No difficulties are expected in ferry traffic.
